Assembling Press Kits
Press kits are a convenient, professional way to get all of the information about
NSIAD to your local media. Find out the names of the health reporters/editors
at local TV stations and newspapers, and send them kits.
To make a professional-looking press kit, you'll need:
- A two-pocket folder (one that is not designed to hold filler paper -- no
tabs in the middle)
- copies of:
- the press release
- the fact sheet
- the list of myths
- the Bill of Rights for People who Self-harm
- a contact list for your area (see your coordinator)
- the list of strategies for stopping
- the quotes from people who self-harm regarding treatment in emergency
rooms
- the brochure
To assemble:
- In the right pocket, put:
- the contact list
- the fact sheet on top of the contact List
- the press release on top of the fact sheet
- In the left pocket, put:
- the quotes from people who self harm
- the strategies for stopping on top of the quotes
- the bill of rights on top of the strategies
- the brochure on top of the bill of rights
- If your folders are the type with a business card pocket or slots and you've decided to
make business cards, put
your card in it; otherwise just staple it to the left pocket.
